About Overseas Chinese History Museum of China
The Overseas Chinese History Museum of China, referred to as the Overseas Chinese Museum, is located at the east entrance of Beixinqiao Santiao in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It is an institution directly under the All-China Federation of Overseas Chinese. It is China's first national thematic museum that comprehensively displays the history and current status of Chinese immigration. The Overseas Chinese History Museum was first initiated by Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1960 and built in Beijing. It was approved by the state in 2005 and was completed and opened on October 21, 2014. It was officially opened to the public in October 2015. The appearance of the museum building is composed of antique courtyard houses and modern buildings. It covers an area of 5,000 square meters. The main building is 18 meters high.
