About Tongzhou Museum
Tongzhou Museum, established in 1992, is located at No. 9 West Street, Tongzhou Town, Tongzhou District, southwest of Zhaqiao, Xinhua Street. The museum is a well-preserved two-in-four courtyard from the Qing Dynasty. It has a typical Beijing architectural style and is a fully funded public institution. The fixed display is "Zuo Fu Xiong Fan - Tongzhou History and Culture Exhibition", which selects precious cultural relics unearthed from Tongzhou for exhibition and introduces the 2,200-year history of Tongzhou since the establishment of the county in the Western Han Dynasty. On May 13, 2025, the Tongzhou Museum was officially opened to the public after upgrading. After the upgrade, the exhibition was divided into four parts, highlighting the important status of Tongzhou's transportation hub, land and water meeting, military fortress, and important town in the capital.
