About Tianjin Dagang Olympic Museum

Tianjin Dagang Olympic Museum is an independent international non-profit public welfare institution approved by the International Olympic Committee. It is affiliated to the International Olympic Museum Alliance (one of 36 members in the world). It is located on the south side of Dagang Guangang Lake in Binhai New District, Tianjin. It covers an area of 5,000 square meters and a building area of 4,858 square meters. It was officially opened on September 27, 2009. The museum was planned and founded by Wu Jingguo, a member of the International Olympic Committee. The building inherits the design concept of the Lausanne Olympic Museum and adopts a glass cloister design that runs through three exhibition halls. It is the first Olympic-themed museum in the world to adopt this structure. The museum is the second Olympic-themed museum in China and the first in the north.
