About Shilongba Hydropower Museum
The Shilongba Hydropower Museum is located in Shilongba, Haikou, Xishan District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. It is an industry state-owned museum established based on the Shilongba Hydropower Station, a national key cultural relic protection unit. Its building was transformed from the ancient Chinese-style office buildings of the power station. The museum was established on September 11, 1980, opened to the public for the first time on June 1, 2006, and was officially established on August 26, 2010 by the National Energy Administration and the Yunnan Provincial Government. The museum is based on China's first hydropower station, Shilongba Hydropower Station, which was built in 1910 and put into operation in 1912.
