About Jiang Baili's former residence
Jiang Baili's former residence, formerly known as Huaixuan Hall, is located at No. 79 Wujialangxia, Xiashi Town, Haining City, Zhejiang Province. It is a five-room wooden structure bungalow built by Jiang Baili in 1926 in memory of his mother. The former residence faces south from the north, with a width of 18.2 meters and a well 15 meters deep. There is a venue in the front, a patio and a wing in the back. The original plaque inscribed "Huaixuan Hall" by Tan Yankai and the couplets donated by Liang Qichao have now disappeared. The building was listed as a Haining municipal cultural relic protection unit in 1984. It was rebuilt and renovated in 2001 and later opened to the public as Huaixuan New Hall. Huaixuan New Hall is located diagonally across from Xia Shi Middle School at the foot of Guangming Road at the southwest foot of Dongshan, Haining.
