About Cao Yu's Former Residence Memorial Hall

The Cao Yu Former Residence Memorial Hall is located in the Italian style area of Minzhu Road, Hebei District, Tianjin. It consists of two two-story Italian-style brick and wood structures. It was officially put into use on May 1, 2010. The museum relied on the restoration of Cao Yu's former residence in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It was listed as an immovable cultural relic in 2004. The renovation project was completed in 2007 and became a key protected building in 2008. In 2013, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Tianjin and a patriotism education base in Tianjin. In front of the museum, there is a 1.2-meter-high bronze bust of Cao Yu created by Liu Xin. The museum contains nearly 3,000 historical documents and photos, and has 14 exhibition sections and three theme exhibition halls.
