Beijing Grand Canal Museum is located in Building 5, No. 1, Lvxin Road, Tongzhou District, Beijing. It is a smart comprehensive museum that integrates collection and storage, open exhibition, scientific research, social education, cultural preservation and restoration and other functions. The total construction area is about 99,700 square meters. The Beijing Grand Canal Museum officially started construction on October 28, 2019. On December 27, 2023, the Beijing Grand Canal Museum was officially opened to the public. Beijing Grand Canal Museum consists of a shared hall, an exhibition building (main building) and a leisure water street. The design concept of the museum construction is derived from the three elements of boats, sails and water in the ancient canal picture. It uses the canal as a clue to integrate history and culture into the architecture.
