About Kunming Natural HistoryMuseum

Kunming Zoological Museum, affiliated to the Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is a national second-level museum located at No. 32, Jiaochang East Road, Wuhua District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. It was founded in 1959 and officially opened to the public in November 2006. The Kunming Museum of Zoology currently has a collection of 900,000 animal specimens of various types and displays more than 20,000 animal specimens of various types. It is the largest and most abundant animal-themed museum in southwest China. It has the ability to support and serve global scholar research, popular science education for all, dissemination of animal science knowledge, animal cultural and creative development, production of animal display specimens, and planning of large-scale science exhibitions.
