About Zhejiang Industrial Bank Building
Zhejiang Industrial Bank Building is located at No. 237 Heping Road, Heping District, Tianjin. It was built in 1922 and designed by Shen Liyuan, an architect of Huaxin Engineering Department. It is a partial three-story building with a mixed structure. The building is in the shape of an inverted triangle in plan, with a Taskanian stone pillar porch at the entrance, Ionic colonnade balconies on the second and third floors, and an indoor circular trading hall with white marble capitals carved with ancient coin patterns, and a steel frame glass dome on top. The building was originally the site of the Tianjin Branch of Zhejiang Industrial Bank. It was located on Gongbei Street in the early days of its establishment in 1915 and moved to its current location in 1925. The bank, Zhejiang Industrial Bank and Shanghai Commercial Savings Bank were collectively known as the "Three Southern Banks".
