About Jardine, Matheson & Company (Yihe Foreign Firm) House Former Site
The former site of Jardine Matheson House is located at No. 171 Shengli Street, Jiang'an District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is an important historical site and representative building in modern times. In December 2023, it was announced by the Wuhan Municipal People's Government as the sixth batch of Wuhan cultural relics protection units. The building was designed and built by the German business firm Shiges in 1919. It has served as the residence of the Hankou Broadcasting Bureau and the National Government Broadcasting Agency. The main body of the building is a three-story brick-concrete structure in the British Victorian style, with the exterior facade made of clear red bricks.
