About Shen Zengzhi's Former Residence
Shen Zengzhi's former residence is located at No. 21 Yaojiadai, Nanhu District, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is a late Qing Dynasty courtyard-style three-entry two-story brick and wood structure building, facing south, with a construction area of 879 square meters. It is now one of the sixth batch of provincial cultural relics protection units in Zhejiang Province (announced in 2011). There are existing buildings such as the Zoumatang Building, halls and wells in the former residence. There is a bronze bust of Shen Zengzhi in the Jiafu Pavilion at the first level. His life and academic achievements are displayed in the Chaocai Building at the second level. There are buildings and bungalows in the third level. The overall structure has basically remained original except for the ruins of the garden.
