About Hengtou Street Historical and Cultural District
Hengtou Street Historical and Cultural Block is located at the southern foot of Dongshan Mountain in Haining, Zhejiang, on the north side of Hengtang River. It has a planned land area of about 92,000 square meters, a total construction area of about 119,000 square meters, and a total investment of about 850 million yuan. It is a provincial-level historical and cultural block and characteristic commercial street. Historically, this neighborhood was located at the junction of Hangzhou and Jiaxing. It was once a rice and grain distribution center for Jiangsu and Zhejiang. It is said that "first there was Hengtou Street, and then there was Xia Shi Town." The poet Xu Zhimo once wrote the poem "A Golden Trace of Light" with this neighborhood as the background. The block development project was launched in 2019 and opened in July 2023.
