About One tree forest

Dushu Chenglin Scenic Area is located in the national-level Daluo Port Development Zone of Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province—just 3 km from Daluo Town Government and bordering Xiaomengla, Myanmar. Its centerpiece is a millennium-old highland banyan tree, locally named 'Meilongka': over 50 meters tall, with a trunk girth of 600 cm and a canopy spanning 50 meters north–south and 60 meters east–west. Thirty-six aerial roots have grown from its trunk, creating the breathtaking 'one tree, forest-like' phenomenon—a hallmark of tropical rainforest ecology. Designated a national AAAA-level scenic area, Meilongka has been cultivated as a tourist site since 1992, when local residents planted flowers and ornamental plants around it. In March 2012, Manzhang Village partnered with a private enterprise to upgrade the site.
