About Eagle Flying Platform
There are two main eagle platforms, located in Longwan Town, Qianjiang City, Hubei Province and by the Fruit Lake in Wuchang District, Wuhan City. The Qianjiang Eagle Flying Platform is the core part of the Zhanghuatai site of the Chu State's Palace in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. It was built in 535 BC and has a total protected area of 100.9 square kilometers. Important relics such as Shell Road were discovered. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit and has been built into the Longwan National Archaeological Site Park. Wuchang Eagle Flying Terrace covers an area of about 8,000 square meters and contains relics of the Qujialing Culture of the Neolithic Age. According to legend, the poet Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty flew eagles here in 760 AD, hence the name. It is now a provincial cultural relic protection unit and has a statue of Li Bai flying eagles.
