About The Golden Terrace in the Glow of the Setting Sun 1
Jintai Sunset is one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Yanjing" and is located near East Third Ring Road Middle Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing. Jintai is the golden platform. According to legend, King Zhao of Yan built a platform and invested a lot of gold in it to recruit wise men from all over the world. During the Mingchang period of the Jin Dynasty, "Jintai Sunset" was included in the eight scenic spots of Yanshan. Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty designated it and erected a monument outside Chaoyang Gate. In 2002, during the construction of the Fortune Center Building, the "Golden Platform Sunset" monument made by Emperor Qianlong was unearthed and later re-erected in the courtyard of the building, becoming a cultural landscape in Beijing's central business district.
