About Beijing Minsheng Museum of Modern Art
Beijing Minsheng Art Museum is a private professional art museum established with a full donation from China Minsheng Bank. It is located in Hengtong International Innovation Park, No. 9 Jiuxianqiao North Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing. The museum was renovated from the old factory of the Beijing Panasonic Color Picture Tube Company (commissioned in 1989 and closed in 2009). The building was designed by Zhu Pei Architectural Design Office, with Thomas Kelens, the former chairman of the Guggenheim Museum in the United States, as a consultant. It uses a silver-white aluminum-manganese alloy facade and natural light and shadow design to completely retain the characteristics of industrial heritage. It was officially opened in June 2015. The first exhibition focused on the power of folk art and was continuously rated as an AAAA-level social organization.
