About Taipingyang Underwater World Exhibition
The Pacific Han Sea Underwater World Expo is a comprehensive ocean-themed expo located under the Central Radio and Television Tower in Beijing. It was built by a joint venture between Singapore and China. It was opened to the public in May 1998. It covers an area of about 8,000 square meters and has a total investment of 200 million yuan. The museum integrates marine life science popularization, viewing and entertainment functions, and was awarded the title of "Beijing Marine Science Popularization Education Base" by the Oceanographic Society of China. With the theme of the Pirates of the Caribbean ship legend, the museum has more than ten exhibition areas including a cabin-style roaming area, an 80-meter-long 270-degree annular acrylic undersea tunnel, a Peruvian penguin pavilion, and a seal performance area.
