About Red Brick Art Museum
Red Brick Art Museum is an art museum located in Cuigezhuang Township, Chaoyang District, Beijing. It covers an area of about 22 acres and has a construction area of about 9,720 square meters. It includes 9 exhibition spaces, 2 public leisure spaces, 1 art derivative space, and is equipped with multi-functional halls, children's activity rooms, artist-in-residence studios and other supporting facilities. It was officially opened on May 23, 2014. The Red Brick Museum was started in 2007 by Mr. Yan Shijie, a collector and entrepreneur, and his wife Ms. Cao Mei. Dong Yugan, a famous architect and professor at Peking University, was invited to design the museum. Red bricks are used as basic architectural elements in the building and garden of the Red Brick Museum, forming a unique architectural language.
