About Black Dragon Pool

Heilongtan is located on the northern side of Lupiguan in Shicheng Town, Miyun District, Beijing, 100 kilometers from downtown Beijing. It is adjacent to the Miyun Reservoir and connected to the Yunmengshan Scenic Area. The scenic area is situated within a canyon that stretches 4.5 kilometers in length and has a water level difference of approximately 220 meters. The total area covers about 1.95 million square meters, with mountain peaks on both the north and south sides of the canyon ranging in elevation from 300 to 500 meters, giving rise to three major waterfalls and 18 pools, including Spring Flowers, Autumn Moon, Flat Sands, and Falling Geese. Within the canyon, you can still find the ruins of the Lupiguan Water Gate, built under the supervision of Qi Jiguang during the Ming Dynasty, as well as geographical steles. Vegetation coverage reaches 80%.
