About Sky Grassland Scenic Area
Feihu Yu – Airy Prairie Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, located on the summit of the Taihang Mountains at the junction between Weixian County and Laiyuan County in Hebei Province, and Lingqiu County in Shanxi Province. The scenic area consists of three sections: Feihu Yu, Maiti Liang, and Airy Prairie. Airy Prairie is a high-altitude meadow covering an area of approximately 32 square kilometers and situated at an elevation of 2,158 meters. To visit, you must pass through Feihu Yu; this canyon is one of the historically renowned “Eight Passes of the Taihang.” In summer, the prairie enjoys a cool climate with lush flowers and grasses, earning it the nicknames “Airy Garden” and “Home of the Snowdrops.” The prairie also features a millennia-old ice cave. It is open to visitors from June to October each year.
