About Erdaoqiao Grand Bazaar
Erdaoqiao (Uyghur: Döngköwrük, Latin Uyghur: Döngköwrük, meaning “arched bridge”) is located in the Lianhua South Road area of Tianshan District, Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China. It derives its name from a wooden bridge that once stood in this location. The original residents of this area were mainly Uyghurs; in addition, residents of other ethnic groups such as Kazak, Kirgiz, Mongol, Hui, Tajik, and Tatar also live here. Today, it has become a commercial district for ethnic minorities in Urumqi.
