Urumqi People's Park is located at No. 3 Youyou South Road, Sayibak District. It borders the West Bridge to the north, the intersection of the Yellow River to the south, Heping Canal to the east, and Park Street to the west. Covering an area of 300,000 square meters, it is the largest and oldest comprehensive park in the center of Urumqi. The park was built in 1884 and was expanded based on Jianhu Lake. As a national AAA-level tourist attraction, the park preserves many autonomous region-level cultural relics protection units such as Chaoyang Pavilion, Huxin Pavilion, and Xinjiang People’s Martyrs Monument (built in 1956), including Maoting, Changting, Xiaochunting, Zuixia Pavilion, Yuewei Thatched Cottage, Huxin Pavilion and other buildings. With Jianhu Lake as the core landscape, the park features Ming and Qing style buildings and century-old trees.
