Datong Hui and Tu Autonomous County, also known as Datong County (Tibetan: gser khog rdzong, Wylie transliteration: gser khog rdzong), is an autonomous county under the administration of Xining City in Qinghai Province, China. It is located in northeastern Qinghai, north of the Huangshui River and south of the Qilian Mountains, situated in the transition zone between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Loess Plateau, at an elevation ranging from 2,280 to 4,622 meters. The county covers an area of 3,090 square kilometers, and its county seat is Qiaotou Town. Its mineral resources include coal, limestone, quartz, dolomite, and more. Within the county’s borders are large enterprises such as the Qinghai Aluminum Plant and the Qiaotou Power Plant.
