About Tianqiao Mountain Scenic Area

Tianqiao Mountain, also known as Yangqiao Mountain, is located on the northern bank of Wushui in Luxi County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province. It is five kilometers from Lusi Old Town (Wuxi Town) and serves as a national 3A-level tourist attraction, with its main peak at an elevation of 776.2 meters. The scenic area takes the ancient Tianqiao Road, built during the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, as its core feature. This ancient road runs along a half‑mountain cliff ridge, measuring six feet in length and three feet in width, equipped with iron chain railings—so narrow that only mountain goats could pass through it, earning it its name. Along the route are attractions such as Nüxian Cave, Linggong Palace, and Yunfeng Peak; Yunfeng Peak consists of five lotus‑shaped mountain peaks.
