About Kazan’s Folk Tourism Area
Kazanqi Folk Tourism Area is located southeast of Yining City in the Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, covering an area of approximately 22.9 square kilometers, with a core zone spanning 12.8 square kilometers. It is a large, pristine cultural and natural scenic area, renowned as the “Museum of Traditional Dwellings.” In 2007, the Kazanqi Folk Tourism Area was developed under government leadership with active participation from local residents, through investment of 120 million yuan by Yining City to carry out protective restoration and tourism development projects in the core area of Kazanqi. In April of the following year, the Kazanqi Folk Tourism Area officially opened to the public.
