About Ink and Danxia
“Ink and Danxia” is a Chinese painting created in 2021, measuring 180 cm by 180 cm. The work was selected for the 14th National Art Exhibition. Huo Huimin is a member of the China Artists Association and a researcher at the Cultural and Historical Research Institute of the People’s Government of Gansu Province. His connection with Ink and Danxia has spanned more than a decade; from 2013 to 2015, he studied continuously for two terms in the Advanced Studies Program led by Professor Du Dakai at the Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University. It was under his mentor’s guidance that he repeatedly ventured into the depths of these Danxia landforms to sketch and create. In 2014, Huo Huimin brought Professor Du Dakai to visit Ink and Danxia.
