About Lanzhou Botanical Garden Scenic Area
The Turpan Desert Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Uyghur: تۇرپان قۇملۇق ئۆسۈملۈكلەرى باغچىسى, Latin Uyghur: Turpan qumluq ösümlükleri baghchisi, English: Turpan Eremophytes Botanical Garden, CAS) is a botanical garden affiliated with the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, primarily dedicated to the collection and conservation of desert plants from arid regions. It is located in Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China. The Turpan Desert Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences serves as the richest repository of special plant germplasm resources for temperate desert plant species, and it is also the lowest-altitude botanical garden in the world.
