About Lanzhou Yellow River Tower Scenic Area
In ancient China, the Yellow River was known as “River Water” or “Great River,” often abbreviated as “River.” It is the second-longest river in China, after the Yangtze River, and also the seventh-longest river in the world. Originating at the northern foothills of Jazi’ya Mountain, a branch of the Bayan Har Mountains in Qinghai Province, the Yellow River flows successively through nine provinces and autonomous regions—Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, and Shandong—on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Loess Plateau, the Inner Mongolia Plateau, and the North China Plain. It finally empties into the Bohai Sea (Laizhou Bay) at Huanghekou Town, Kenli District, Dongying City, Shandong Province.
