About Ciqikou ancient town 14

Ciqikou Ancient Town (English name: Ciqikou Ancient Town), originally known as Baiyanchang and also referred to as Longyin Town, is located in the northeastern part of Shapingba District, Chongqing. It sits at No. 1 Ciqi South Street, along the banks of the Jialing River. It is 5 kilometers north of the center of Shapingba, 14 kilometers from the center of Chongqing, and 3 kilometers south of Shijingpo. The ancient town covers a total area of 325,000 square meters, with the core scenic area distributed on the eastern and southeastern slopes of Ma’an Mountain, spanning 143,000 square meters. Ciqikou Ancient Town was founded during the Xianping Era of Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty and experienced rapid development during the Qing and Republic of China periods. After 1958, as waterborne transport gradually declined, the ancient town began to fall into decline.
