About Young Marshal House
Zhang Xueliang's former residence is located at No. 78 Chifeng Road, Heping District, Tianjin. It is a national AAA tourist attraction and is also known as Shaoshuai Mansion or Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence Museum. The building was built in 1921. The main body of the building is a three-story beige-grey Baroque-style foreign-style building, covering an area of 1003.64 square meters and a construction area of 1418 square meters. In 1924, Zhang Xueliang purchased it from the French Consulate in the name of Zhang Shouyi (the fifth wife of Zhang Zuolin). The former residence was managed and rented by Zhang Xuequan after 1949. After being renovated as a private house in 1956, it was operated by the state. In 1960, it was classified as public property and was used as an office building and commercial place.
