About Xining wildlife park
Xining Wildlife Park, also known as Qinghai Wildlife Rescue and Breeding Center and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Wildlife Park, is located in Chengxi District, Xining City. It opened in May 2009 and covers an area of 1,500 acres. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national-level science education base. As the only large-scale comprehensive wildlife park in Qinghai Province, it exhibits 1,162 wild animals of 105 species, including snow leopards, black-necked cranes, Przewalski's gazelles and other Tibetan Plateau specialty species, as well as exotic animals such as giraffes and hippopotamuses. It adopts a combination of free-range and venue models and has 13 exhibition areas including the beast area, herbivore area, and bird garden. The park assumes the responsibility of wildlife rescue in the province.
