About Manlei Pagoda
Manlei Pagoda is located on the top of the mountain next to Manlei Village in the southeast of Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It consists of two large and small pagodas and two small Buddhist temples. The big tower is 20 meters high and the small tower is 15 meters high. The base of the tower is square, the body of the tower is an octahedral structure, and the top is decorated with metal ornaments. The main building incorporates the characteristics of Burmese pagodas, with a round dome. There are thousands of Buddha statues arranged in a gradient on the third floor, and the top is in the shape of a lotus lantern. The pagoda is both a pilgrimage site for Theravada Buddhism and a county-level cultural relic protection unit.
