About Furong Gorge
Furong Gorge, commonly known as Tiecheng, is located in the Xiandu Scenic Area in Shangzhang Village, Xiandu Street, Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province, 15 kilometers away from the county seat, opposite Dinghu Peak, and is now the core attraction of the Xiandu Scenic Area. The canyon is formed by two mountains forming a V-shaped canyon. It is about 300 meters deep, about 60 meters at its widest point, and about 2 meters at its narrowest point. The purple rocks on the cliffs on both sides are clustered like hibiscus. The canyon landform is formed by the uplift of the earth's crust, erosion and weathering by flowing water. The 1964 movie "Ashima" was shot here, making it known as "Ashima's second hometown". The canyon will reopen to the public on September 1. Furong Gorge was originally formed by volcanic eruptions in the Cretaceous, and the lithology of the mountain was tuff.
