About Xiyang Lou
Zelan Hall is a group of garden buildings built at the northern end of the central axis of the Changchun Garden of the Old Summer Palace in the 11th year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1746). It is adjacent to Hanjing Hall to the south and Xiyanglou Dashuifa to the north. It is the commanding height of the garden and covers an area of about 10,000 square meters. The building complex is divided into two parts, north and south: in the south, Cuijiao Xuan is the main body. In front of the Xuan, Taihu stones are stacked to form the Xichun Cave, with a stone plaque inlaid with Qianlong's imperial calligraphy; in the north, the courtyard is composed of the Aishan Tower and the main hall of Zelan Hall with a nanmu structure. It once housed cultural relics such as "Reengraved Chunhua Pavilion Tie" and "Western Tower Copperplate".
