About Scenaric Viewpoint
Natural Pictures is one of the forty sceneries of the Old Summer Palace in the Qing Dynasty. It is located on the east bank of Houhu Lake in the Kyushu Scenic Area. It is a garden building complex built in the Kangxi Dynasty. It was originally named Bamboo Garden and was renamed Natural Pictures during the Yongzheng period. The scene faces Hou Lake to the west, and the main building is a square building. The surrounding landscape is divided into Langyin Pavilion, Bamboo Pavilion, Wufu Hall and other landscapes. It is famous for its bamboo forest, magnolia and the borrowed scenery of Xishan Qunlan and Yuquan Pagoda. In the ninth year of Emperor Qianlong's reign, the poem "Natural Pictures" was written to praise its scenery. The magnolia in front of Wufu Hall was planted when the Old Summer Palace was first built in the fiftieth year of Emperor Kangxi's reign (1711).
