About Library of Green Tree
Bitong Academy is one of the 40 scenic spots in the Old Summer Palace. It is located in the northeast corner of Houhu Lake in Jiuzhou Scenic Area. It is a royal study building complex in the Qing Dynasty. Bitong Academy was formerly known as "Wutong Academy" and was built in the Kangxi Dynasty. It was still called "Wutong Academy" during the Yongzheng period. The building complex is 120 meters long from north to south and 115 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of 13,500 square meters. It is composed of three courtyards. The main hall hangs a plaque with "Bitong Academy" written by Emperor Yongzheng. The building complex is surrounded by mountains and is surrounded by sycamore trees. The courtyard is covered with sycamore trees, forming a cool garden space. Emperor Yongzheng studied here all year round.
