About Beizhaimen

Beizhai Gate, also known as North Gate or Zhongzhai Gate, is located in the Balingzhai Scenic Area and is one of the three relatively complete ancient village gates in Balingtai. The gate was built in the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 500 years. Its steep geographical location and simple architectural style have not changed significantly for hundreds of years. The north gate has an arched roof, 3 meters high and 1.5 meters wide. The left wall is engraved with the year "Xianfeng Kou Kou Year of the Qing Dynasty". On the stone cliff in front of the door are the three characters "Balingtai" inscribed by Wu Daoning, the magistrate of Fangshan County during the Xianfeng Year of the Qing Dynasty. As the main passage leading to Balingtai Scenic Area, Beizhaimen has long been responsible for tourists' mountaineering, sightseeing, Zen enlightenment and religious activities.
