About abu simbel temple
Abu Simbel Temple (Arabic: أبو سنبل, English: Abu Simbel Temple) is part of the Nubian ruins from Abu Simbel to Philae. It is located in the southernmost Nubian region of Egypt, 280 kilometers north of the Egyptian tourist town of Aswan. Construction began during the reign of Ramses II in Egypt. The entire construction project was probably completed in 1233 BC. In 1960, the Egyptian government decided to build a dam in the Aswan area. In order to complete the protection of monuments such as the Abu Simbel Temple before the water level rose, an international construction team composed of Egypt, Germany, France, Italy and Sweden officially started work in 1963. The project was completed in September 1968 at a cost of US$36 million. The Abu Simbel Temple is a cave temple carved out of a sandstone mountain. It consists of a large temple and a small temple.
