About Chinese-character-shaped Flowing Pattern in the River

The word "Shui Xiao Lantern" is one of the twelve scenic spots in Cuba and Chongqing. It refers to the night view at the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River (today's Chaotianmen area of Chongqing). Because the water flow of the two rivers twists and turns, when viewed from a height, it looks like the character "Ba" in ancient seal script, so it is called "Zi Shui". When the lanterns are first turned on at night, the waves shine brightly and the lights of thousands of houses are reflected in the river, so it is nicknamed "Zi Shui Xiao Lantern" (also known as "Zi Shui Xiao Lan"). During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Wang Erjian, the magistrate of Ba County, included this scene when evaluating the twelve scenic spots in Bayu. There are still remains of "Zi Shui Inscriptions" from the Qing Dynasty near Ciyun Temple on Nanbin Road, Nan'an District.
