About Nanluoguxiang
Nanluogu Lane is located in Dongcheng District, Beijing, on the east side of the central axis of the Jiaodaokou area. It was built at the same time as Dadu in the Yuan Dynasty. It runs north-south, starting from Gulou East Street in the north and ending at Ping'an Street in the south. It is 787 meters long and 8 meters wide. In the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Jinggongfang, Zhaohui, and was called Luoguoxiang. In the fifteenth year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1750), it belonged to Xianghuang Banner and was called Nanluogu Lane. During the "Cultural Revolution" it was once renamed Huihuang Street, and then its original name was restored. Nanluogu Lane is a famous alley with profound historical and cultural heritage and one of the oldest neighborhoods in Beijing. It still fully retains the unique texture of the Hutong courtyards in the Yuan Dynasty.
