About Nanshi Food Street
Tianjin Food Street, also known as Nanshi Food Street, is a catering center built in 1984 and opened in 1985. It is located in Nanshi Business District, Heping District, Tianjin, and is one of the ten scenic spots in Tianjin. It is surrounded by gray walls to form a square block. The main building contains four Qing-style gatehouses, and the first words on the plaque form "Revitalize China". Inside, a glass-roofed crosswalk runs through the three-story building complex, bringing together six major cuisines including Shandong cuisine and Jiangsu cuisine, as well as Tianjin-style snacks such as 18th Street twists and Er'eryan fried cakes. In 1989, the street was rated as one of the ten scenic spots in Tianjin, and in 2025, it was selected into the tenth batch of 20th century architectural heritage promotion list.
