About Jing Ming Building
Jingming Tower is located between Lian Bridge and Liu Bridge on the west embankment of the Summer Palace in Beijing. It was built in 1750 and consists of the main building and two auxiliary buildings. The architectural form refers to Zhao Mengfu's "Lotus Pavilion Enjoying the Coolness" of the Yuan Dynasty. The name of the building comes from the sentence "Spring and the scenery are bright, and the waves are calm" in Fan Zhongyan's "Yueyang Tower". Jingming Tower was destroyed in 1860. Its foundation was discovered during the dredging of Kunming Lake in 1991. It was rebuilt on the original site and completed in 1992.
