About Hunan Guild Hall
Hunan Guild Hall is the name of a place in Shaanxi Province. It was built in 1832 (during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty) by immigrants from Hunan who raised funds and was located at Shuilian Wharf. The building is a Jiangnan-style courtyard house, with carved eaves and painted roofs, bracket-shaped windows, wooden pillars supporting beams, and ridge-mounted ridges. It was once used as a place for Hunan people to gather, trade, and stay in Shaanxi. The guild hall was abolished in 1996 and was converted into a national primary school building in the late Republic of China. After 1949, it was expanded into a commune base school with additional attached rooms and classrooms. The main body of the building was demolished in the summer of 1984, and the original site is now the residence of Hanyang Central School.
