About Jiuzhou Qingyan
Jiuzhou Qingyan (also known as "Jiuzhou Qingyan") is one of the 40 scenes in the Old Summer Palace. It was first built in 1707 and was the core area of the palace for the Qing emperors and empresses from the Kangxi to Xianfeng dynasties. It is located on the island on the south bank of Houhu Lake. The main buildings include the Old Summer Palace, Fengsan Selfless Hall and Jiuzhou Qingyan Hall. Its name was originally inscribed by Yongzheng, which means "the world is clear and the sea is clear". The building complex has both administrative and residential functions. On both sides of the central axis are residences such as "Heaven and Earth, One Family, Spring" and "Le'an He".
