About Xinghuachun Pavilion
The Xinghua Spring Pavilion is one of the forty scenes of the Old Summer Palace in the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the northwest of Jiuzhou Scenic Area. It was built during the Kangxi period. It was originally a vegetable garden. It was renovated and named in the fourth year of Yongzheng (1726). It took the artistic conception of "Xinghua Village" in Du Mu's "Qingming" poem and created a pastoral style with short houses, sparse fences, vegetable gardens and farmland. During the Qianlong period, Chunyuxuan, Chengguan and other structures were added to form a garden pattern surrounded by mountains and water. The mountain stacking technique integrated Taihu stone and bluestone stacking. The scenic spot also functions as a royal farming experience. When the apricot blossoms are in full bloom in spring, emperors often come here to enjoy the flowers and taste wine.
