About Diligent and virtuous
The Hall of Diligence and Friendship is one of the 40 scenes in the Old Summer Palace. It is located to the east of the Zhengda Guangming Hall. It was the core area in the garden where the emperors of the Qing Dynasty handled government affairs. Its function is similar to the Yangxin Hall in the Forbidden City. It was also the daily residence of Emperor Qianlong. The building complex is 150 meters long from north to south and 170 meters wide from east to west. It covers an area of about 25,000 square meters and has a construction area of 6,750 square meters. It is dominated by Qinzheng Hall and extends to Baohe Taihe Hall, Fuchun Building and other buildings from north to south. It has both government affairs and leisure functions. The Qinzheng Hall is a structure with five halls and two buildings.
