About Wanfang Anhe
Wanfang Anhe is one of the forty scenic spots in the Old Summer Palace. It is located on the west side of Houhu, adjacent to the Xinghuachun Pavilion in the east, and connected to high mountains and long rivers in the southwest. The building was built in the early years of Yongzheng. It was originally called Wanzifang. The main body is a white marble base in the shape of a "swastika". It was built on the water and has thirty-three zigzag connected palaces. It was one of the favorite palaces of Emperor Yongzheng. There is an emperor's throne in the middle, and above it hangs the inscription "Everywhere is safe" written by Yongzheng. In 2004, the Beijing Institute of Cultural Relics conducted an exploration and excavation of the site, and the foundations of the "卍"-shaped pavilion and the "十"-shaped hall were revealed.
