About Moon and Earth Cloud Dwelling
Yuediyunju is one of the forty sceneries of the Old Summer Palace. It is located in the west of the Old Summer Palace to the south of Hongci Yonghu. It is a Buddhist temple garden building complex, commonly known as the "pure place". The scene was first built in the Yongzheng period and was once known as Xianxiang Garden and Lezhi Mountain Village. In the second year of Qianlong's reign, it was renamed Qingjingdi, and in the ninth year of Qianlong's reign, it was called Yuedi Yunju. It was originally a royal ancestral temple to worship the portrait of Emperor Yongzheng, and was rebuilt into a royal temple from the fifth to eighth year of Qianlong's reign.
