About Sitting on a rock and facing the stream
Sitting on the Stone Linliu is one of the forty scenes of the Old Summer Palace in the Qing Dynasty in China. It is located in the northeast of Houhu Lake. It was built in the fifth year of Yongzheng reign (1727) and covers an area of about 70,000 square meters. The landscape consists of five parts: Orchid Pavilion, Baopu Thatched Cottage, Savatthi City, Tongyuan Garden and Buying Street. It integrates garden architecture and market cultural elements. The Orchid Pavilion was built after the ancient Orchid Pavilion in Shaoxing. It was originally a Liubei Pavilion with double eaves. In the 44th year of Qianlong's reign (1779), it was rebuilt into an eight-column stone-carved pavilion. The existing stone columns were moved to Zhongshan Park. The Baopu Thatched Cottage is modeled after the thatched cottage in Chengde Lion Garden, and is planted with bamboo, ancient pine and other plants.
