About Yuanyinguan
Yuanyingguan is an important part of the Western Tower Scenic Area of Changchun Garden in Yuanmingyuan. It consists of three parts: the main building, the large water method and the water viewing method. It forms a north-south axis layout. The building complex was built in the forty-eighth year of Qianlong's reign (1783). It adopts a combination of Chinese and Western architectural styles, with double eaves, glazed tile roofs and white marble pillars complementing each other. As a summer resort for the emperors, it was once the residence of Concubine Xiang (Concubine Rong). The interior furnishings include Western furniture and diplomatic gifts. The large water fountain system at the core of the landscape is famous for its bronze sculpture of "Hunting Dog Chasing a Deer". The water viewing area is equipped with a twelve zodiac hydraulic timing device.
